An employee of the provincial hospital was injured when he was sideswiped by a van while he was biking along the national road in Bato town last week.
The report said Ding Luchavez, 39, a casual driver at Eastern Bicol Medical Center and resident of Palnab, was on board his mountain bike and traversing the highway from Bato proper to Virac at 4:50 P.M. of Feb. 26 at barangay Tilis, Bato, when he was accidentally hit by a green Hyundai van (XDA-125) from behind.
The cyclist fell on the concrete roadway and sustained minor injuries to the different parts of his body. The vehicle, owned by Gerry Angeles of Parang. Marikina City, and driven by Felex Bardinas, 54, a welder of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, was impounded by the Bato police.
In another vehicular accident, a seven-year old boy sustained abrasions on his face and left when he was accidentally hit by a motorcycle along the road in Cabugao, Bato last week.
Matt Gabriel Adalin reportedly crossed the road at 8:30 A.M. of Feb. 25 and as hit by the black Kawasaki CT100 without plate number owned by Elizabeth Manoguid of Pajo San Isidro and driven by Mark Adnel Gianan, 21, a student from Biong, Gigmoto, who did not possess a driver’s license.
