A security guard driving a motorcycle was seriously injured in San Andres town the other week when his vehicle was bumped by a Caramoran-bound utility van.
The report said security guard Amador Arciga Jr., 36, of Cabcab, was driving a Kawasaki Rouser along the national road at 1:45 P.M. of April 1 while bound for the town proper when he was accidentally hit by an Isuzu van driven by Rodel Alberto Rodriguez, 44, of Bothoan, Caramoran. Arciga, who did not wear a helmet, fell to the concrete pavement and sustained severe injuries. He was brought to the Juan M. Alberto Memorial District Hospital.
Meanwhile, two men transporting undocumented lumber on board a motorcycle were intercepted by the Virac police in the evening of April 2.
Policemen led by PO23 Jigger Tacorda chanced upon Henry Delluza, 27, of Danicop, and John MIcheal Petajen, 19, of Sogod Tibgao (BLISS), at 9:30 P.M. at the latter village while the duo were carrying on board the motorcycle four pieces of 2x2 lumber with a volume of 16 board feet.
In Bato town a day earlier, a team led by Senior Inspector Emsol Icawat came upon laborers Noel Nesortan, 43, and Romnick Nacor, 26, both of San Jose, Alanao, Lupi, Camarines Sur, while in the act of cutting a narra and “atipulo” tree using an undocumented chainsaw. The lawmen confiscated from them a set of tools, bolo, used oil and gasoline, 21 pieces of narra flitches and 14 pieces of “atipulo” flitches, with a total volume of 331 board feet with an estimated value of P16,587.50.
