A jobless resident of Cabuyoan, Panganiban has been arrested for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act, three separate charges of which have been filed before the Regional Trial Court.
Ian Tapar Fernandez, 25, was nabbed by PO2 Brent Mark Contante at the village at 5:30 P.M. of April 5 on the basis of a warrant issued by RTC Branch 42 Acting Presiding Judge Lelu P. Contreras in connection with three criminal cases for violation of Republic Act 9262, with bail fixed at P24,000.00 each case.
Meanwhile, a laborer and an abaca stripper have been collared by the same police unit after a criminal charge for violation of the Chainsaw Act of 2002 was filed against them before the sala of RTC Branch 43 Presiding Judge Lelu P. Contreras.
PO3 Leo Templonuevo arrested laborer Randy Soledad, 23, and abaca stripper Roel Evangelista, 27, both residents of barangay San Antonio at 9:30 A.M. of April 6 at Sta. Maria. They will have to cough up P16,000.00 each as bail for their temporary liberty.
In the capital town last April 5, policemen led by PO2 Jeffrey Angustia apprehended Nestor Francisco Ferrer, 36, a laborer from Danicop, to face a criminal charge for homicide filed before RTC Branch 42. Bail was set at P40,000.00.
San Miguel lawmen led by PO2 Eric Glen Posadas also handcuffed Antonio Torrente Bernal, an abaca stripper from Mabato, last April 5 after he was accused of acts of lasciviousness before the 1st Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Bato. Presiding Judge Francisco Torres Jr. issued the arrest warrant, with bail set at P8,000.00.
Baras policemen led by PO3 Warren Obal nabbed Lito Guerrero, 32, in Tilod last April 3 on the basis of a warrant issued by RTC Paranaque City Branch 195 presiding judge Aida Estrella Macapagal for qualified theft, with recommended bail of P40,000.00.
In Camarines Sur, joint elements of Buhi town policemen and the San Miguel police station led by Inspector Elany Vallangca, arrested Ricky Penino Reyes, 30, last April 3 in Zone 5, barangay San Ramon.
Formerly a resident of Mabato, San Miguel, Reyes fled to Buhi after he was accused of violation of the Anti-Rape Law (RA 8353) with no bail recommended.
