San Andres policemen assisted the passengers of the fast craft at San Andres port after the vessel accidentally hit the port due to equipment failure last week.

According to the report, M/V Silangan Express 1 helmed by Capt. Ben Gonzaga, which departed from Tabaco port at 12:35 P.M. of April 24, 2018 with 190 passengers on board, was about to dock at San Andres port at 2:45 P.M. when its hydraulic system failed. As a result, the starboard or right side of the ship’s bow hit the seaport, causing some damage to the sea craft.

This caused a 20-minute delay in the docking of the fast craft and the disembarkation of the passengers. None of the passengers and crew were injured in the accident.
