A native of Gigmoto died from a single punch to the neck in Baras town last week after allegedly ignoring the suspect’s request for the victim to stop forcing a child to eat mouthfuls of food.

Baras police personnel arrested Salvador Geromo Jr., 24, a resident of Genitligan, for the death of Eddie Tayangona, 30, a native of Dororian, Gigmoto, last April 21 at 1 P.M.

Investigation disclosed that the suspect saw Tayangona forcing Geromo’s niece to eat more than she could chew. He approached the victim and told him, “Tama na yan, alam mo nang mi kaya, isuboan mo pa,” but Tayangona continued feeding the suspect’s niece.

Geromo got angry and unleashed a solid punch that landed at the right side of the victim’s neck, resulting in his untimely death. A case for homicide has been filed by the Baras police before the Provincial Prosecution Office.

Meanwhile, the parties involved in a violent incident in Pandan town the other week have agreed to settle their differences.

Following the submission of an affidavit of settlement, the family of Reyzon Cerillo are no longer interested to file a case for frustrated homicide against Jesus Angeles, 23, a baker, as they are relatives.

Police said that at about 11:57 A.M. of April 21, 2018 at Cobo, Angeles used a bolo to attack Cerillo, who was wounded in the chest.
