Still another microfinance officer was waylaid by highway robbers in Caramoran town as the spate of armed robberies continued unsolved.

According to ASA Caramoran branch worker Eugene Regalario, 24, a resident of Manito, Albay, he was on board his motorcycle bound for the company’s office at the poblacion when the incident occurred at 12 A.M. of April 23, 2018 along the barangay road of Tucao after he had collected contributions and payments from their members and clients in the village.

Two men wearing black bonnets and each armed with Cal. 38 revolvers flagged him down and declared the hold-up. The suspects forcibly took his blue backpack containing a record book, passbook, ballpens, a pad of cash receipt slips, and more or less P60,000.00 in cash. They then fled towards a mountainous area of the barangay.

The Caramoran police immediately responded to the incident and conducted a follow-up operation for the possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
