At least 13 with island blood pass bar exams

As of latest count, 13 native Catandunganons and those with Catandunganon parents are among the new lawyers following the release of the results of the 2017 bar exams by the Supreme Court last week.

The latest batch of lawyers from the island is headed by Atty. Mary Aubbrey Leigh Barrameda Lim, the youngest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hector and Janet Lim of San Roque, Virac. A consistent scholar who graduated valedictorian from the Catanduanes State Colleges Laboratory Schools, she was magna cum laude and class salutatorian at the Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy at the University of Santo Tomas in 2012 before passing the CPA board exams. Last July 2017, she also graduated as class salutatorian at the Ateneo de Manila Law School where she was conferred the degree of Juris Doctor.

They are: Atty Norlito P. Agunday Jr. of Caramoran, who is connected with the UP College of Engineering; Atty. Ma. Carmina Francesca M. Alcantara of Virac; Atty. Ralph Borja Bodota of Bagamanoc and Baras who is now based in Cavite; Atty. Sonny C. Gianan II of Palawan province who graduated from the Palawan State University; Atty. Manuel Luis C. Isorena, a fireman from Pandan, Catanduanes and Oas, Albay;

Atty. Lorenzo Miguel A. Osida of Viga; Atty. Jim Alvien Torio Prietos of Viga; Atty. Cayetano B. Ramos of Hawan, Virac; Atty. Paul Anthony A. Tacorda of San Pedro, Virac; Atty. Ezekiel Vargas Tacorda, son of former PBM Edwin Tanael and auditor Sonia Vargas-Tanael of Cavinitan, Virac; Atty. Joseph Daniel S. Tarraya of Viga; and, Atty. Ma. Erma Torrente Tatel of Baras.

Mikhael Lorenzon A. Osida, son of Captain Lorenzo Manlangit Osida of Barangay Ogbong, Viga Catanduanes and Marilyn Osida, nee (atienza) was among the successful bar examinees. He is a graduate of the San Beda School of Law. The young Osida works at the Great Pacific Shipping Management Incorporated and manning agency in Manila founded by father Capt. Osida and wife.
