Lawmen recovered four big sachets of suspected shabu from a 36-year old man in Virac during a court-ordered search last week.

Joint elements of the Virac police station and the Regional Intelligence Unit led by Senior Inspector Ariel Buraga, under the supervision of Chief Inspector Josefino Titong, made the seizure during the implementation of the search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Lelu P. Contreras against Bernard Marquez Valeza, a resident of Calatagan Tibang, last June 20, 2018.

A search of Valeza and the premises of his residence resulted in the confiscation of four big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu. Also seized as non-drug items were a match box, transparent plastic, a plastic sachet inside a sealed plastic, and a black LG cellphone.

The search was witnessed by designated representatives as well as barangay captain Epifanio Linan and kagawad Lauro Ubalde. The suspect has been placed under temporary custody of the police station pending the filing of appropriate criminal cases against Valeza.
