One of two men under the influence of liquor who engaged in a fist fight was stabbed by an unknown interloper last week in San Andres town.

The police learned of the incident from tricycle driver Eddie Oliquiano, 42, who said that his brother Joy, 36, a construction worker, was stabbed in an incident at the pier site in barangay Cabcab last July 18, 2018.

Personnel of the San Andres police station led by SPO3 Clemente Arcilla together with investigator PO1 Bobby Tribiana went to the Juan M. Alberto Memorial District Hospital to verify the report.

According to the initial investigation report, Joy Oliquiano was reeking with intoxicating liquor at 9:30 P.M. when he came across another man, July Laurente, also under the influence of liquor, and challenged him to a fistfight.

While the fight was in progress, an unidentified perpetrator suddenly stabbed Joy from behind, with the victim suffering two puncture wounds at the back and chest. Joy ignored the injury and continued fighting until he complained to difficulty of breathing.
