Bato motorist falls into creek

A laborer from Tilis, Bato sustained injuries in the different parts of his body after his motorcycle fell ibnto a creek in Binanuahan early in the morning of Oct. 15, 2018.

The report said Alex Pagal, 33, was allegedly under the influence of liquor when the accident occurred at 3 A.M. while he was driving a Rusi 100 motorcycle with no plate number and relevant documents.

He was on his way to the town proper when his vehicle lost its brakes, causing it to careen towards the creek.

After a phone call from barangay councilman Ronie Mendoza, the police immediately proceeded to the scene and rendered assistance. The victim was rushed by Philippine Red Cross personnel to the Eastern Bicol Medical Center.

Three days earlier, in San Miguel town, a Grade 1 pupil was injured when he was sideswiped by a cargo truck along the national road.

Police said the victim, seven-year old Christian James Panza, was playing beside the highway in barangay Siay at 9 A.M. of Oct. 12, when he was hit by the blue Isuzu forward truck (TKP-401) then bound for Virac.

The driver immediately brought the victim to the San Miguel Rural Health Unit but immediately left the area without any notice.

The local police coordinated the matter with the police stations of Bato, Virac and San Andres, with investigators proceeding to the Land Transportation Office in Virac for the possible identification of the owner and driver of the truck.
