An unlicensed driver was injured in an accident involving three vehicles along the national highway in Paniquihan, Baras the other week.

The report stated that a white Mitsubishi L300 van owned by Manuelito Valencia of Nagcarlan, Laguna and driven by Simeon Tajan, 51, of Virac, was on its way to Gigmoto from Virac when a topdown motorcycle coming from the opposite direction tried to overtake a Toyota pickup owned by San Miguel Brewery.

The motorcycle with sidecar driven by Elvis Bautista, 39, a resident of Batolinao, Baras, sideswiped the pickup driven by Rodolfo Luis Jr., 43, of San Pablo City, Laguna, causing the latter to collide with the L300 van. Bautista, who had no driver’s license, was injured and was brought to the Bato Maternity and Children’s Hospital for treatment.

The drivers of both cars were unhurt but the L300 van sustained damage on its windshield while the pickup truck was damaged on its left bumper and left back wheel.
