Robber takes P49-k from Pandan church

A thorough investigation is being conducted by police authorities in Pandan town after an unidentified suspect robbed the St. Ignatius de Loyola Church of over P49,000.00 in cash last week.

According to the report, the robbery occurred sometime between 1 A.M. and 5 A.M. of Nov. 21, 2018 at the church compound located at barangay Del Sur.

Utility personnel Jeffrey Oclarino, 31, who is staying at the parish convent, reported the incident to the Pandan police that same morning. Rev. Fr. Avelino Sualibio Jr. is the current parish priest of the church.

Initial investigation conducted by PO1 Mark John Bea stated that the perpetrator destroyed the steel window of the church and then proceeded to the parish office. He destroyed the door knob and once inside, dismantled the drawer lock and took a yellow pouch containing P38,600.00, a violet pouch with P2,000.00, and a transparent plastic pouch containing P8,533.00 in different denominations.

The suspect exited at the same window he entered on his way in, the police stated.

Meanwhile, a tricycle taken from its parking spot near a Virac restaurant last Nov. 19 was recovered intact in San Andres town two days later.

Henry Taller, 52, of Constantino, Virac, had reported to the police that at about 7 P.M. of Nov. 18, his red Honda TMX 155 motorcycle with sidecar was taken by an unidentified person while it was parked beside Blossom’s Restaurant in barangay Salvacion.

Fortunately, the police said, intelligence operatives of the Virac police found the tricycle abandoned at Lictin, San Andres at around 6:30 A.M. of Nov. 20,
