Another set of equipment worth P254,300 were turned over recently by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Catanduanes Provincial Office to the Shared Service Facility (SSF) Center of the Catanduanes State University (CSU) in a bid to further improve the packaging of local “pasalubong” products.

The new set of machines was turned over to CSU President Dr. Minerva I. Morales, representing the university as SSF Cooperator, with the equipment installed at the CSU Food Packaging Center for Pasalubong Products.

The SSF project of the DTI seeks to increase the productivity and competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing them with machinery, equipment, tools, systems, skills and knowledge under a shared system. Following the turn-over, a demonstration on the functions and how to utilize the machines was conducted by the supplier, Hardhat Songbird Industrial Trade Properties. The demo and turn-over was participated by DTI-assisted clients under the Processed Food Industry Cluster, DTI Senior Trade & Industry Development Specialist Irene Andes, Trade & Industry Development Specialist Rey Delos Santos, representatives from CSU and some CIT Food Technology students.
