CNHS classroom robbed of laptop, cash, beauty products

An unidentified suspect or suspects broke into a room at the province’s biggest public high school during the New Year break, escaping with a laptop, beauty products and cash belonging to a teacher.

Angelee Romero Sarmiento, 44, a resident of Palta Small, reported to the police in the morning of Jan. 3, 2019 that her classroom was robbed.

Investigators disclosed that the robbery at Room 67 probably occurred sometime between 6 P.M. of Jan. 1 to 4 A.M. of Jan. 3, during which the unknown perpetrators destroyed the steel grills and window jalousies to break into the classroom.

Once inside, the suspect/s took a red HP laptop (serial number 740015-003) worth P20,000; a set of lapel microphones valued at P800; five pieces of Victoria Secret lotion (P4,500); two pieces Bath and Body Works (P2,000); one Jovan perfume (P1,000); eight pieces Hanes t-shirts (P3,000); five Men’s Briefs (P1,750); eight packs of Brilliant Set Beauty Care (P2,800), Dove shampoo (P600); six pieces Ponds Facial (P1,500); two pieces Jergens lotion (P400), scientific calculator (P500); and, cash of P800.

In Pandan three days earlier, businesswoman Nieves Gumatay, 52, was victimized by a robber who destroyed the galvanized iron door panel of her store, Iday Enterprises, at barangay Libod

She told the police that the unknown suspect took P50,000 cash, a Cherrymobile cellphone worth P2,500 and a Chico mobile phone amounting to P2,000.

A review of the CCTV footage by the police showed that at 1:47 A.M. of Dec. 29, 2018, a man wearing a t-shirt and jersey shorts, with his face covered with a bonnet, entered through the damaged door panel, appropriated the cash and cellphones and got out through the gap he created.
