Laboratory examination conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Administration (PDEA) showed that the contents of the five sachets with Chinese markings that Caramoran fishermen found floating in the ocean at Benham Rise were not illegal drugs/

According to the Catanduanes police, all specimens containing an unknown white powder submitted to the PDEA regional office gave negative results for the presence of dangerous drugs and/or controlled precursor and essential chemicals under Republic Act 9165.

The sachets were among the many reportedly seen at 9 A.M. of Mar. 15, 2019 by Dindo Resare and Melvin Talion, both fishermen from Dariao, who were fishing in the ocean north of Pandan.

The items were handed over to electrician Delfin Sapico, who gave them to the Caramoran police.
