JOANNA ROSE TOLLEDO
SIGRID GRACE FLORES

Among the 40 official candidates of the search for Binibining Pilipinas 2019 are two beautiful women who have Catandungan blood in their veins: last year’s hopeful Sigrid Grace Flores and pageant veteran Joanna Rose Tolledo.

After cracking the top 25 in the Bb. Pilipinas 2018, Flores is hoping for a much better outcome in this year’s edition.

A native of Miagao, Iloilo whose mother Juliette Flores hails from Panganiban town, 5’ 6-1/2” Sigrid Grace first entered the world of beauty pageants as a candidate for Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 and, after a brief respite, returned to the limelight in the Miss Bicolandia 2017 tilt where she placed 4th runner-up. The born-again Christian and pastor enrolled in Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication at Central Philippine University before going to the University of the Philippines Visayas to study political science.

Now based in Quezon City, the 26-year old lass is the founder of Sons & Daughters Home and movement head at Sons & Daughters Charity.

Five-foot-six Joanna Rose Tolledo, Candidate No. 2, is fresh from an inspired performance as 2018 Century Tuna Superbods finalist, two years after being named to the top 10 at the 2016 Mutya ng Pilipinas and top 12 in the 2016 Miss Philippines Earth pageants.

The 25-year old BS Psychology graduate and former grade school guidance counselor is a daughter of Jose Tolledo of Buenavista, Bato, who has settled in Caloocan City with his family.

The official candidates, who were trimmed down from 84 applicants, will have a chance to represent the Philippines in six international competitions: Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational, Miss Grand International, Miss Globe, and Miss Intercontinental.

Their names were revealed by Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) at the final screening and announcement on March 18 at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.
