Two persons described as businessmen fell in separate anti-drug operations in Bato and San Andres towns last week.

In Bato, law enforcers  apprehended a 21-year old businessman in a buy-bust operation last week and seized three sachets of marijuana.

The anti-illegal drug operation, led by Staff Sgt. Gary Manlangit, was launched last June 6, 2019 against one Leonel Techon Reginaldo, a resident of barangay Cabugao, who was arrested at 9:30 P.M. after handing the poseur-buyer three transparent plastic sachets containing dried marijuana leaves and receiving the marked money.  It is claimed that one of the Bato police’s confidential informants acted as poseur-buyer during the operation which was witnessed by barangay captain Nenita Taraya.

Two days later in San Andres, it was the turn of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Administration (PDEA) to lead an operation to nail another illegal drug personality

According to the report, PDEA Catanduanes provincial field office led by Arlene Galiza, together with San Andres police personnel under supervision of Lt. Roderick Bino, arrested Jose Henry Aldave, of legal age, a businessman of barangay Esperanza, at 3:30 AM of June 8, 2019, after illegal drugs were found in his house.

The operating team, which was implementing a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Genie-Gapas Agbada against Aldave for violation of RA 9165, confiscated three medium-sized transparent plastic sachets and three small sachets, all containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.

Separate cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing against the two suspects.
