Illegal fishers from Bagamanoc apprehended off Pandan town

Law enforcers from four separate police units joined together last week to arrest five fishermen from Bagamanoc town who were caught in possession of an air compressor at barangay Tokio in Pandan.

Joint elements of the Pandan police station, Catanduanes Police Intelligence Branch (PIB), Police Special Operations Team (PSOT) and the Bagamanoc police station, under the supervision of Pandan police officer-in-charge Capt. Robert Kevin Caparroso, confiscated two fishing boats, a compressor tank, compressor engine and other fishing paraphernalia during the July 5, 2019 operation.

Joar Evangelista, 19, Jason Toltol, 19, Jonel Bandola, 19, Joshua Evangelista, 26, and Nelson Bandola, 20, all of Suchan, Bagamanoc, will be charged for violation of Sec. 10 of Provincial Ordinance No. 2014-008 (Possession of Compressor).

Meanwhile, two residents of Cabcab, San Andres were nabbed by the local police last July 2 following the issuance of arrest warrants against them for violation of the Philippine Fisheries Code.

Policemen led by Cpl. Oscar Esquierda arrested Sammy Solsona and Ronnie Solsona, who will have to cough up bail of P36,000 each for their temporary liberty.
