Island’s #6 Most Wanted arrested by Bato police

It took more than five years for the law to finally catch up last week with Catanduanes’ No. 6 Most Wanted Person who had been charged with three counts of child rape in 2013.

Last July 4, 2019 at 6:30 P.M., personnel of Bato police station led by Patrolman Kristoffer Dan Garcia apprehended Rodney Tesorero Pedregosa at barangay Sipi.

The 35-year old janitor who had been staying at barangay Basra in Diliman, Quezon City, was the subject of a standing warrant of arrest issued by then Regional Trial Court (RTC) Acting Presiding Judge Lelu P. Contreras in December 2013 for three counts of violation of Republic Act 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law, in relation to RA 7610 (Special Protection Against Child Abuse Exploitation and Discrimination).

No bail was recommended for the three cases, docketed under Criminal Case Nos. 4827 to 4829.

In San Miguel town, operatives of the local police led by Master Sgt. John Teston collared the station’s No. 2 most wanted person at barangay Bulalacao in Caramoran.

Mary Rose Torcelino, a resident of sitio Kuripdas, barangay JMA, faces a non-bailable case for murder filed before RTC Branch 42, for which a warrant for her arrest was issued in April 2015.

Meanwhile, a construction worker has been arrested in Dariao, Caramoran in connection with a criminal case for child abuse filed against him before the RTC Branch 42.

Last July 3, at 10:45 A.M., a team led by Staff Sgt. Arnaldo Aguirre of the Caramoran police, together with CIDG-Catanduanes provincial field unit, arrested Charlie Alpon Avulecia, 34, just a month after the filing of Criminal Case No. 6938 against him for violation of Sec. 10(a) of RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination) with bail set at P80,000 for his temporary liberty.

In Baras town a day,earlier, joint elements of local police led by Pat. Mark Vincent Obo, and the 2nd Police Mobile Force Company, arrested a laborer at barangay Benticayan.

Jesus Tacorda Amandi, 25, had been accused of child abuse for violation of Sec. 5 (b) of RA 7610 under Criminal Case No. 6946, with bail recommended at P200, 000.
