A barangay kagawad from Caramoran town faces a criminal charge for violation of Republic Act 10591 after the police confiscated two guns and bullets from his possession last week.

Joint elements of the Caramoran police led by officer-in-charge Capt. John Michael Miraflor, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Catanduanes provincial field unit, and the provincial intelligence branch based at Camp Francisco Camacho made the seizure last July 5, on the basis of a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court.

The team confiscated from Camburo barangay kagawad Rudy Interno Fernandez, 56, a Cal. 9mm pistol, a magazine assembly and four (4) live ammunitions for the 9mm, as well as a Cal. 38 revolved with five bullets.

He was placed under custody of the Caramoran police station while a case for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act is being prepared against him.
