A special monitoring on construction materials sold in Virac was conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Catanduanes provincial office in cooperation with the Kapisanan ng Mamimiling Katandunganon (KASAMA KA) last week.

Celeste Tribiana, head of the DTI Catanduanes Consumer Protection, was joined by three members of the Kapisanan ng Mamimiling Katandunganon (KASAMA KA) – President Roger Magtangob, Treasurer Dominador Tadoy and Business Manager Angel Gianan – in visiting seven (7) establishments in the capital town last July 5, 2019 to check their compliance with product standards. Also with the team were media partner Johnny Atole of Radyo Natin and DTI Catanduanes information officer Geraldine Bagadiong.

Of the seven business establishments monitored, none was found to have committed any violation of Republic Act 4109 and other fair trade laws.

The DTI Catanduanes has continuously appealed to the public to be wary about their consumer rights and also for sellers to be responsible in offering products that conform to standards.
