The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Catanduanes provincial office last week handed over to Virac Town Center (VTC) an Information standee/rack intended to educate consumers.

Last July 24, 2019, the info standee, bearing the back-to-back posters entitled “Consumer Complaints and Nadaya Ka Ba?”, is part of DTI’s continuing advocacy to guard consumers against erring traders and deceptive sales practices that lure unsuspecting victims, especially the senior citizens, into enticing deals that end up with the victims being divested of large sum of money.

The turnover ceremony was marked by the signing of a memorandum of agreement at the lobby by DTI OIC-PD Maria Belma Q. Escueta and ACC Hypermart Supervisor, Marilyn Damayo, who represented VTC owner, Teresita Cua. It was witnessed by DTI Consumer Protection Division Head Celeste B. Tribiana and by VTC Events & Marketing Head, Ms. Trisha Solero.

The standee is now on display at the VTC lobby, just outside the entrance to the ACC Hypermart Store. Aside from the posters, the standee also contains information flyers that consumers can get for free.
