The three fishermen from Bagamanoc who went missing recently was found off the coast of Baras nearly a day after setting off from their village.

The Bagamanoc police said that Tito Trinidad, 70, his wife Ester Trinidad, 71, and Gregorio Vargas, 80, all of barangay Magsaysay, had sailed on board a motorized banca from Bugao at 8 A.M. of July 15 to catch fish in the sea but failed to return home.

Apparently, the boat’s engine conked out and they drifted with the current until four fishermen from Baras came upon them at 9 A.M. the following day. The Baras fishers towed the stricken banca and its passengers to the nearest island at sitio Cabacungan in Cagdarao, Panganiban town so they could fix the engine and eat their meals. They managed to dock at Bugao before noon of the same day.
