A 15-year old Grade 10 student has been identified as the one who took two cellphones from the house of a midwife the other Sunday in Baras town.

The belated report stated that the victim, Analyn Atun, 45, a midwife at the Rural Health Unit, was asleep in the bedroom of her house in Eastern Poblacion at 3:45 A.M. of Aug. 11, 2019 when she was awakened when she felt somebody touching her legs.

She saw the suspect inside her room, prompting her to seek for help. The boy immediately fled through the kitchen door, taking with him the victim’s personal Oppo A36 cellphone and the Samsung hotline cellphone of the Baras RHU that was earlier placed on the study table beside her bed.

The case has been referred to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, a teener from Panganiban was arrested by police in barangay San Vicente after he allegedly stole five fighting cocks from his former boss last Aug. 12.

Authorities found Jake Turirit, 18, in possession of the stolen fowls valued at an estimated P80,000.

Turirit was previously under the employ of Robert John Aquino as caretaker of his game farm before the latter reported the roosters missing last Aug. 6.
