Two men were apprehended by law enforcers last weekend in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Virac and Bato towns.

First to fall was Wilfredo Visaya Pelagio, reportedly a guard at the Eastern Bicol Medical Center.

A buy-bust operation mounted by the Regional Intelligence Division (RID)/Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG)-Catanduanes, the Virac police, Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB), Regional Intelligence Unit 5 (RIU-5) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Administration (PDEA) led to his arrest last Aug. 16, 2019 at 11:30 P.M. at barangay Calatagan, Virac.

The team confiscated from his possession six plastic sachets containing white crystalline granules believed to be shabu and four pieces of P500 bills used as buy-bust money.

About five hours later in Bato town, on Aug. 17, at 4:55 A.M., joint elements of the Bato police and the RSOG Catanduanes arrested Kennedy Pereyra Rodulfo, a part-time singer and resident of Binanuahan, after a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu was seized from him in the implementation of a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Genie G. Gapas-Agbada.

Charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the two men.
