A court-ordered search of the residence of a retired teacher in Caramoran town has yielded 50 pieces of undocumented lumber just days after the van which she and her husband were riding was flagged down and yielded furniture.

Teresita Verano, 75, was arrested at around 4:22 A.M. of Aug. 20, 2019 in Guiamlong after a search by a team led by Caramoran police’s Master Sgt. John delos Santos together with PSOT-CATPIB Cpl. Dan Bagay and the Catanduanes Police Mobile Force Company turned up 10 pieces of white lauan lumber and 40 pieces of red lauan stockpiled inside the Verano residence.

The search was covered by a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 42 Presiding Judge Genie Gapas-Agbada for alleged violation of Presidential Decree 705 or the “Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines.”
