Caramoran police investigators have yet to determine what led an abaca stripper to shoot his brother three times last week using an airgun.

Investigation disclosed that Artemio Palero Abines, 46, also an abaca stripper, was making a small bamboo house called locally as “togod” at 8:40 A.M. of Sept. 10, 2019 when without an apparent reason, his brother Nilo, 47, shot him three times using an airgun.

The pellets hit the index and middle fingers on the right hand of the victim, who was brought to the Caramoran municipal hospital in Datag later in the afternoon after the police arrested Nilo and confiscated the airgun.

In another development, a barangay kagawad has been apprehended for mauling a security guard in Bagatabao in Bagamanoc town the other Monday.

The report stated that Napoleon Pelagio, 49, a resident of Sta. Mesa, was with Bagatabao kagawad Jesus Tabo, 46, in front of the residence of Antonio San Gaspar at about 2:45 P.M. of Sept. 9, 2019 when the latter suddenly punched the guard on the different parts of his body.

Pelagio was rushed to the Bagamanoc Rural Health Unit while policemen led by Staff Sgt. Romeo Ogalesco pursued the suspect until he was collared.
