A 21-year old jobless woman from Viga has fallen into the net of anti-illegal drug operatives following a buy-bust operation in the capital town of Virac last week.

The report stated that joint elements of the Virac police, the Catanduanes police intelligence branch, the Regional Intelligence Division team and the 1st Catanduanes Police Mobile Force led by Maj. Josefino Titong mounted the operation on the night of Sept. 12, 2019.

Apprehended at the market site in barangay Concepcion at 11:20 P.M. was Nikka “Mikay” Lopez Tojon, a native of San Jose (Poblacion), Viga and temporary resident of Imperial Homes Subdivision in San Isidro Village.  The police said she is in the watchlist of new drug personalities.

Recovered from her were four medium-sized sachets of suspected shabu, one small sachet of the same illegal drug, all with an estimated market value of P4,500, as well as five pieces of P500 buy-bust money and a cellphone.

The police said that while the marking of the drug and non-drug items were done at the site, the actual physical inventory was done at the police station, due to the bad weather condition at the time. Witnessing the inventory were the suspect and mandatory witnesses Chairman Anthony Arcilla and media representative Donnie Vic Tabirara.

Meanwhile, a case for possession of dangerous drugs has been filed against a tricycle driver who was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Virac the other Monday (Sept. 9).

Watchlisted drug surrenderer Lucilo “Klet” Yuga Rojas, 31, a resident of Tagkalo St. in Bigaa, agreed to remain in custody of the police pending the termination of the preliminary investigation at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

Last Sept. 9 at 7:10 P.M., joint elements of the Virac police, RID Team Catanduanes and the police intelligence bureau led by Maj. Bon Billy Timuat seized a medium-sized sachet of shabu valued at P20,000 from Rojas during the operation that went down at Capilihan.

Also seized from him were the genuine P500 and two fake P500 bills used as buy-bust money. Present during the inventory were barangay kagawads Eduardo Avila Sr. and Vivian Bailon, and the media representative.
