Policeman surrenders gun with expired permit

The Panganiban police conducted an “Oplan Katok” right inside the police station last week, convincing a fellow police officer to give up a pistol with expired firearms license.

Master Sgt. Arnold Taller, 46, a resident of barangay San Juan, surrendered his Cal. 45 pistol and an empty magazine to his colleagues after Cpl. Francis Peña conducted the campaign among gun holders last Sept. 12, 2019.

Meanwhile, a court-ordered search has led to the recovery of a revolver inside the house of an abaca stripper in Kilikilihan, San Miguel last week.

The warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 43 Presiding Judge Lelu P. Contreras was served on Roger Ogalinola Camacho, 46, at 4 A.M. of Sept. 12 by elements of the town police led by acting chief of police Capt. Antonio Perez.

During the search witnessed by barangay chairman Larry Bernal Jr., The lawmen recovered a Springfield Cal. 38 revolver without serial number and with five live ammunition.
