The families of the two police officers killed during an ambush by New People’s Army rebels in 2017 have been given Livelihood Starter Kits by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Early this month, Jose Tupue, father of PO3 Joseph Tupue and Gemma Timbal, sister of PO1 Eva Torcelino, both received the starter kits in a brief ceremony held last Sept. 2, 2019 from DTI Catanduanes OIC-Provincial Director Maria Belma Escueta with Bato Mayor Juan Rodulfo, PMSg Rogelio Manlangit, and PMSg Mark Allen Mina of the Bato Municipal Police Station as witnesses.

The kits contain equipment and supplies for a food vending business and is part of the DTI’s Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP) implemented nationwide as a gesture of gratitude for the bravery and sacrifice of fallen police officers and for the honor they brought in the name of public service.
