A drinking spree between two men in Viga town last week degenerated into a stabbing incident, the police reported.

Initial investigation showed that prior to the incident that occurred at 6:55 PM of Oct. 17, 2019, fisherman Alfie Tugelida, 30, and farmer Domingo Tugelida Jr., 47, were engaged in a drinking session at sitio Salvacion in barangay San Jose Poblacion, when they had a heated argument that was later pacified.

Domingo went home but continued talking about the issue between them, which was overheard by Alfie.

This reignited the fisherman’s ire and he confronted Domingo, leading to an exchange of punches and a stabbing in which Alfie was hit on the right bicep and left ear.

He was rushed to the Viga district hospital and then to the Eastern Bicol Medican Center for further treatment while Domingo was arrested by barangay tanod Leo Obal and turned over to the police.

The police report did not clarify the relationship between the two protagonists.
