INSENSITIVE TO THE PLIGHT OF TRAVELERS. the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) in Tabaco port has removed the ferry ticketing offices from its previous booths inside the passenger terminal and instead placed them near the port gate. This has inconvenienced and brought suffering to travelers bound for the island as they have to wait in line for their tickets exposed to the elements and then forced to either pay for porters or carry their baggage and personal belongings more than a hundred meters to the terminal. According to PPA Tabaco, starting Feb. 1, all passenger buses and vans as well as rented taxis will no longer be allowed to enter the port, with all commuters to alight at the gate. Passengers who arrive early in the morning will be prohibited from sleeping inside the terminal while waiting for the ferry trip. For years now, sea commuters have been grumbling about the P30 they pay for using the terminal, with majority just passing through the building on their way to board the ferry.
